When watching movies or TV series in a foreign language, many people like to watch the subtitles in their own language.

This is okay if you just want to enjoy the show. However, when you are learning a language, reading subtitles in your own language can present a problem.

The problem is the subtitles are too fast so people do not have enough time to translate and compare words.

If you are just beginning a new language, I recommend reading the subtitles in the foreign language you are learning. You may not understand the vocabulary, but at least you will have the chance to read and listen to the correct pronunciation of the language.

I think this is especially important for Thai people because many Thai people know a lot of English vocabulary, but their pronunciation is so bad, native speakers have a hard time understanding their English.

We should practice listening to the correct pronunciation first, and then practice speaking it.
